The Pooket Nappy is a reusable pocket nappy designed to fit babies from birth to potty training (around 8lbs to 35lbs). It focuses on good absorbency and ease of use.

The Pooket nappy features a double pocket entry and a double gusset, it has cross over tabs and hip stabilisers as well as a stay dry tummy panel.

Each nappy comes with two inserts. One sits on top of the other and can be snapped together as well as into the nappy. The smallest insert is made up of three layers of microfibre and two layers of bamboo. The bigger insert is four layers of hemp. The microfibre/bamboo insert is a lot smaller than the hemp insert. This is to avoid the nappy being too bulky and to ensure it fits your child well.

The inserts snap together in different positions depending on whether the nappy is being worn by a male or female child. This ensures that you get the maximum absorbency where it is needed most (the front for a boy and the middle for a girl). The inserts also snap into the nappy pocket both for ease and to secure them in place.

As the Pooket is designed to last your child from birth to potty, the larger hemp insert can be folded slightly shorter at the end to fit the nappy when being used on a smaller child and when your baby is a newborn you dont’t need the hemp.

Your inserts and your nappy will grow with your baby.

A lot of thought has been put into the material used for our inserts. We decided that a trio of fabrics worked best. Our chosen fabrics are microfibre, bamboo and hemp.

  • Microfibre is fast at absorbing liquid but it cannot contain much.

  • Bamboo is slower at absorbing liquid when compared to microfibre but it can hold a lot more liquid.

  • Hemp is the slowest of the three when it comes to absorbing liquid but it is the most absorbent and holds the most liquid.

The three fabrics working together provide an excellent combination of speed and absorbency.

**please note that due to hemp and bamboo being made from natural fibres it can take up to 10 washes for them to reach maximum absorbency.

Top Insert

  • three layers of microfibre

  • two layers of bamboo

Bottom Insert

  • four layers of hemp

The smallest insert sits closest to baby’s bottom but inside the pocket and snaps onto the hemp insert. The soft microfleece material of the pocket in the nappy wicks the wee away from your child’s skin to keep it dry. It is then absorbed quickly by the microfibre and then gradually by the bamboo and finally the hemp.

Newborn babies need their nappies changing around every two hours. Therefore the hemp insert is not needed when using the Pooket for newborns.
